The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has assured Corps Members that they will begin receiving the newly approved monthly allowance of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira (₦77,000) from March 2025.
Speaking during an interactive session with Corps Members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, General Nafiu emphasized the commitment of both the NYSC Management and the Federal Government to the welfare of Corps Members. He reassured them that their well-being remains a top priority.

He commended Corps Members for their dedication and urged them to remain calm, disciplined, and focused throughout their service year. The DG also praised the vision of the Scheme's founding fathers, highlighting NYSC’s role in fostering national unity, cultural understanding, and leadership development among Nigerian youths.
"In March, you will receive ₦77,000 as your monthly allowance. The NYSC maintains a strong record-keeping system, and I assure you that your payment is guaranteed. The nation and the Scheme appreciate your service," he stated.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues at the Garki Zone, Corps Member Zaka Deborah Alheri (FC/24A/5831) expressed gratitude to the DG for his dedication to ensuring the prompt payment of their increased allowance.
