A 27-year-old trainee herbalist, identified as Oyedele Ayodele, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing his 41-day-old son, according to a report by Punch Newspapers.
Ayodele, a resident of Iboro village in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, claimed that he was under a spell when he committed the heinous act.
The suspect allegedly killed his son, Oluwafemi, by hitting him with a pestle on the head. The incident occurred on November 27, 2022.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect was apprehended following a report by the mother of the deceased, who claimed that her husband had used a pestle to hit their son on the head.
Oyeyemi said, "Upon the report, the DPO Iboro division, CSP Fadyen Adeniyi, led his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested."
The suspect has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Abeokuta.
