What Happened
The stampede occurred at a private children's funfair held at Basorun Islamic High School in Ibadan. The event, meant to be a joyful celebration for children, turned into a nightmare as the crowd surged forward, causing chaos and panic.

Government Response
The Oyo State government swiftly responded to the incident, mobilizing a rapid response team to provide assistance and support to the victims and their families. The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, released a statement confirming the incident and assuring the public that the government is doing everything possible to help those affected.
Parents in Distress
Parents and guardians of the children who attended the funfair are in a state of distress, with many besieging hospitals in search of their loved ones. The hospitals treating the injured children include Patnas Hospital, Basorun; Western Hospital, Basorun; State Hospital, Adeoyo, Ring Road; Molly Specialist Hospital; and University College Hospital (UCH).
Investigation Underway
An investigation into the cause of the stampede is currently underway, with the state government promising to hold those responsible accountable. The government has also urged parents to remain calm and cooperative as they gather information and provide support to the victims.
