A shocking incident has unfolded as Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, revealed that his NGO's website was hacked, resulting in the theft of ₦180 million. The funds were diverted to an unidentified account.
In a video posted on his social media handle, VeryDarkMan expressed his distress, stating that he had been feeling down for days. He assured supporters that the authorities have made progress in the investigation, with one suspect already in custody.
The NGO's app has been temporarily shut down for maintenance to prevent further breaches. VeryDarkMan also mentioned that there's ₦20 million left in the account, while ₦160 million was diverted. He and his team are heading to Jos to recover the stolen funds.
This incident comes after the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, launched by VeryDarkMan in October, raised over ₦30 million in donations within hours. Prominent music executive Don Jazzy contributed ₦100 million to the cause, making him one of the initiative's major donors.
