Academic Staff ASUU Declares Indefinite Strike In Niger-Delta University Bayelsa

The ASUU leadership has announced an indefinite strike at Wilberforce Island's Niger Delta University in Bayelsa State.

This decision was made during a meeting at the union's headquarters in Amassoma on Tuesday. The strike is in response to the Nigerian government's repeated failure to honor past agreements made with ASUU. More details regarding the union's grievances and the expected impact on academic activities at NDU will be revealed in the coming days.

Adding to the ongoing strikes, the ASUU chapter at Lagos State University (LASU) also declared an indefinite strike on Monday. This was due to the state government's failure to implement the federal government-approved salary increase of 25 and 35 percent for its members, which was meant to take effect in January 2023.
