Representative Alhassan Doguwa, the Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources, has called for a return to the previous petrol price in the midst of fuel scarcity and rising expenses. He has deemed the current state of affairs as unacceptable and has urged for immediate measures to ease the burden on the Nigerian people.
In addition, Doguwa has promised to address the issue of crude oil theft and vandalism. He has also emphasized the need to have patience with the current administration under President Tinubu as they strive to revitalize the oil and gas industry. He remains hopeful that ongoing efforts such as the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act and the revival of refineries will soon resolve the challenges facing the sector.
